Lotus reMarque is the official magazine of Lotus, Ltd. the largest Lotus club in the USA. Founded in 1973 the club’s first official ‘newsletter’ (Vol.1, No.1) was a simple one-sided sheet dated March 1973 and called, Lotus Letter. From Vol.2, No.8 in November 1974 it was simply described as the Lotus, Ltd. Newsletter.
Volume 3, Number 4 of the ‘Official Newsletter of Lotus, Ltd.’ was the first issue to carry the title of ‘Lotus reMarques’, (note: plural) which, by the next issue in July (Vol.3,No.5), had been shortened to ‘Lotus reMarque’. Which it remains to this day. The following issue (Vol.3,No.6) in August of 1975 was the first to feature a photograph on the front cover, with a shot of DC club member and Lotus racer Tom Luce in the paddock at Summit Point. By now, reMarque was being produced and edited by club stalwart Mark Winston who would remain at the helm until 2006 having produced over 310 issues of Lotus reMarque, quite an achievement!
The March-April 2007 saw a dramatic change for the club and reMarque, when respected Lotus publisher Coterie Press took over production and publication of the magazine. Their first issue, edited by Lotus author and expert on the marque William Taylor, appropriately featured Colin Chapman on the cover of a expanded (32-page) magazine that had a colour cover and feature stories. The six issues a year were now published on a regular, bi-monthly schedule. July 2019 saw the 400th edition and counting edition of reMarque published.
We hope to have the cover of every edition scanned and on these pages very soon.
